Health Centers Week Proclaimed in Wayne County
Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) was presented with a proclamation from the Wayne County Commissioners declaring August 2nd – 8th as National Health Center Week.
During the presentation the commissioners credited WMCHC for “closing gaps and taking down barriers to care.” WMCHC Value Based Care Manager Nicole Hartung, LCSW, shared that across all of its sites, the community health centers provide care to more than 57,000 patients annually, which included 1,880 receiving Integrated Behavioral Health Services and over 3,000 Medicare Annual Wellness Visits. She announced WMCHC’s newest service, a mobile School Based Health Center, will be launched this fall with Wallenpaupack School District as its first partner.
WMCHC is a federally qualified health center encompassing over 20 sites offering primary care, women’s health, pediatrics, behavioral health, walk-in care, dental and podiatry services. WMCHC also maintains a rural-track Family Medicine Residency Program.
