WAYNE MEMORIAL WELCOMES NEW NURSE MIDWIFE

Honesdale, PA (August 31, 2026) — Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) is pleased to announce that Certified Nurse Midwife Autumn Allert has joined its staff. As a midwife practicing with the Women’s Health Center, Allert facilitates births at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s New Beginnings Birthing Suites. She holds outpatient office hours at Honesdale Women’s Health Center, 626 Park Street, Honesdale.

Allert earned a Master of Science degree in Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Marywood University, Scranton, PA. She is also a graduate of the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County’s Licensed Practical Nurse program.

Prior to becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife, Autumn was a Labor & Delivery Nurse for nine years employed by both Geisinger Health System and Moses Taylor Hospital. It was during that time she decided to further her education and become a provider to support women during their birthing experience. She is passionate about patient autonomy, advocacy and access to care.

“One of my goals as a provider is to assure the women I see at both the health center and on labor and delivery feel listened too,” stated Allert. “I want them to know that we are a team — working and planning together to safely achieve the best possible outcome for mom and baby.”   

The Women’s Health Center accepts most private insurance, managed care plans, PA medical assistance and Medicare. A sliding-fee scale is offered for those who qualify.
