Community Wellness Event Planned for May 16th in Honesdale Park

Organizers of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) first annual wellness event, Unity in the Community, slated for Friday, May 16, from 4 pm to 7 pm gathered at the Honesdale Central Park to finalize the layout for the free interactive event.

“A little over a year ago we were brainstorming on how we could give back to the community,” stated Katelyn Haytko, executive assistant, WMCHC. “With input from a planning committee and an overwhelming show of support from our community partners — either as sponsors or vendors – we are excited to invite the public to come together to celebrate physical and emotional wellbeing.”

Attendees can look forward to free refreshments, live music, a variety of health and wellness vendor tables and a chance to win an overnight stay for four at Kalahari Resorts. Family fun activities at “Kids Central” will include a bounce house, face painting and crafts. For adults there will be chair massages and lots of education on ways to achieve or maintain a healthy lifestyle.

“There will be something for everyone!” stated Haytko. “We encourage families to bring blankets or chairs and enjoy the evening.”
