Pediatric Weight Management Program Launched by WMCHC

Honesdale, PA (August 28, 2026) — Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) is pleased to announce that patients are now being accepted for its pediatric weight management program, Healthy Horizons. The program is led by Board-certified Pediatrician Debra Georgetti, MD, who brings decades of experience as a pediatrician including a successful weight management program at a prior medical practice.

Healthy Horizons, provides personalized, evidence-based, family centered-care for children and teens age 6 to 18 years old. The program primarily includes visits with Dr. Georgetti and will eventually include small group sessions to discuss mental health, nutrition and healthy activity. When medically indicated, weight loss medication may be prescribed as a possible option as part of a child’s comprehensive treatment plan.

“Every child is different, and our goal is to support healthy growth and long-term well-being through realistic goals and sustainable healthy habits,” said Dr. Georgetti. “The most basic criteria for the program to succeed is that a child be motivated to make a change.”

All appointments are held at the WMCHC’s Sterling Pediatric Center located at 62 Industrial Park Road in Lake Ariel. Families interested in learning more or determining whether the program is appropriate for their child are encouraged to call 570-689-7565 to set up an initial consultation.
