Wayne Memorial Welcomes Certified Nurse Midwife Rachel Hale, CNM

Honesdale, PA (September 21, 2026)—Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) is pleased to announce that Rachel Hale, CNM, has joined the Women’s Health Center and has been providing care to patients in the community for the past five months.

As a Certified Nurse Midwife, Hale offers comprehensive care for women throughout various stages of life, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, gynecological care, and preventive health services. In addition to seeing patients at the Honesdale Women’s Health Center, Hale facilitates births at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s New Beginnings Birthing Suites. The addition of Hale to the team helps strengthen access to women’s health services in a rural area where access to specialized maternity care can be limited.

Assuming the role of one of WMCHC’s Certified Nurse Midwives was somewhat of a coming home for Hale who completed her eight-month student nurse midwife clinical experience at Wayne Memorial, “I have loved returning to work with the midwives and doctors who trained me,” she stated.

Hale earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from North Park University. She has over a decade of nursing experience, 10 years as Labor & Delivery nurse in California, North Carolina and New York, as well as, two years as a Certified Nurse Midwife in New York state with privileges at Garnet Health Medical Center Catskills.

Hale says she is happy to have chosen WMCHC’s Women’s Health Center to continue her career because “it is a midwifery led practice where women are placed at the forefront of the medical care.”

The Women’s Health Center accepts most private insurance, managed care plans, PA medical assistance and Medicare. A sliding-fee scale is offered for those who qualify.
