WMCHC Welcomes LPC Shawn Armstrong

Honesdale, PA (March 16, 2026)—Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) is pleased to welcome Shawn Armstrong, LPC, CAMS-II, as the newest member of its Integrated Behavioral Health Services team. Through this care model, WMCHC utilizes a collaborative approach to provide behavioral health services within primary care settings to treat the “whole person.”
Armstrong holds a Master of Science degree in clinical mental health counseling from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Anger Management Specialist-II, he has nearly six years of experience providing therapeutic services while working at the Scranton Counseling Center. He began his career in drug and alcohol counseling before transitioning to traditional outpatient therapy. At WMCHC, Armstrong will provide counseling services to patients of all ages, helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate emotional, behavioral, and life challenges.
His connection to the community runs deep. As an undergraduate sociology student, Armstrong completed an externship in the Social Services department at Wayne Memorial Hospital, gaining early insight into the needs of the patient population.
Residing in the Pleasant Mount area, Armstrong says joining WMCHC feels like coming full circle. “I have strong ties to this community and it has always been my hope to provide services in this area,” he said. “I feel honored to join the CHC family.”
Armstrong’s primary location is The Highland Physicians Family Health Center in Honesdale. However, he also travels to The Carbondale Family Health Center and The Forest City Family Health Center. Any patient established with a WMCHC primary care provider can be referred for Integrated Behavioral Health Services. Patients are encouraged to speak to their PCP if they feel these services may be beneficial to them.
